Goodwill provides job training programs and career services for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Our core business is helping individuals achieve their fullest potential through the power of meaningful work.

What Is a Barrier to Employment?

A barrier to employment is any disadvantage which prevents an individual from securing or maintaining employment. These barriers can include but are not limited to:

  • Lack of education
  • Age
  • Criminal record
  • Language barrier
  • Mental/physical disabilities
  • Economic constraints
  • Lack of computer access

Admissions Process

Typically, individuals are referred to Goodwill by the State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVR), local social service agencies, churches, schools and other organizations in the workforce development arena or simply by filling out our Request For Information form. Goodwill is dedicated to meeting both the needs of local job seekers and the local workforce.
